Founded in 2014 by Elena Shokhina — a graduate of the world-famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia — BBA brings the highest standard of classical instruction to Brevard County.

As one of the most respected ballet classes in Brevard County, BBA serves students from Creative Movement at age three through adult. Our Melbourne FL ballet school is located in the heart of the Eau Gallie Art District and has grown to over 200 students, reflecting our community's deep love of the performing arts.

From first steps in Creative Movement to advanced classical technique — there is a place for every dancer at BBA.

Ages 3–4

Creative Movement

An imaginative introduction to movement, music, and the joy of dance. Young children explore coordination, rhythm, and self-expression in a nurturing, play-based environment.

Brevard Ballet Academy welcomes students from age 3 through adult. Our youngest classes, Creative Movement, begin at age 3. We offer classes through all levels up to advanced technique for teenagers, and separate Adult Beginner and Adult Intermediate/Advanced classes for grown-up students of any age.
No prior experience is required. We have classes designed for complete beginners at every age level — from Creative Movement for toddlers to Adult Beginner classes for adults who have never danced before. Our experienced faculty will meet each student exactly where they are.
The Vaganova method is a comprehensive system of classical ballet training developed by the legendary Russian ballerina Agrippina Vaganova. It is used by the world's greatest ballet companies, including the Bolshoi and Mariinsky. The method emphasizes harmonious, coordinated use of the entire body — developing both technical precision and expressive artistry. Director Elena Shokhina trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg.
We are located at 1399 Highland Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935, in the vibrant Eau Gallie Art District of Melbourne, Brevard County. We serve students from across Brevard County including Cocoa, Titusville, and Palm Bay.
Absolutely. We offer dedicated Adult Beginner classes for those with little or no dance experience, as well as Adult Intermediate/Advanced classes for returning dancers. Adult ballet is a wonderful way to improve fitness, flexibility, posture, and stress relief — all while exploring a beautiful art form. No experience, age limit, or special body type is required.
