Our Mission
Pre-Professional Ballet for Brevard County
The Brevard Ballet Youth Company is a pre-professional youth ballet company founded in 2018 by Elena Shokhina, the founder and artistic director of Brevard Ballet Academy. As the performance arm and sister organization of the academy, the company gives the area's most dedicated young dancers the opportunity to perform full-length classical ballets at a professional standard.
Company dancers are drawn from BBA's most advanced students — dancers who have committed years to rigorous Vaganova method training. Each season, they present beloved classical works such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Cinderella for families and ballet lovers throughout Melbourne and the greater Brevard County community.
Through performance, the company nurtures artistry, discipline, and stage presence — preparing dancers for conservatory study, company auditions, and lifelong love of the art form.
